Jordan Page,
Creator, and Frugality Expert...
"The Fun Cheap or Free Queen"
My name is Jordan Page. I am a stay-at-home mom in Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm originally from a small town in northern Oregon called The Dalles.
Yup.
THE Dalles.
Random, I know.
I met my wonderful hubby/soulmate/perfect match in college, married in 2007, settled down here in Utah, and started our family in 2010.
We have a 100lb yellow lab (Ollie), and two kids just 18 months apart: an active toddler boy (Brandtsen Hutchings, "Hutch"), and our sweet princess (Priya Jean), and a 3rd baby (who will also be 18 months apart) due late Feb. Yes folks, that's 3 in 3 years. We might just be crazy! I am seriously obsessed with my family and would rather hang out with them than do just about anything.
My husband is an entrepreneur and is enjoying running his own lead generation company (www.launchleads.com). With a house full of little people and an entrepreneur husband, money can sure be tight around our house!
I've ALWAYS been frugal by nature, and was raised frugal (my cute mom is a great bargain shopper), but my skills were truly put to the test when we ran into some tough financial times when my husband started his business. (See my full story HERE)
Being married to an entrepreneur is nothing if not exciting! Our income, stress-level, rewards, and everything in between are constantly on roller-coaster mode; ever changing from month to month (and day to day for that matter!). Over the years I've learned to be smart, be creative, and created some FACTs that I live by every day.
I started blogging about the creative ways I was spending less on my private family blog from time to time. I got so many questions and requests for more tips, I decided to do something to help others save like we do.
Thus...
I started Fun Cheap or Free in July of 2010. I blogged occasionally, more as a hobby than anything. I actually got to the point where I was about to delete the blog because I was having a bit of an identity crisis and couldn't decide where I wanted to "go" with it. But, thanks to my sweet hubby and an inspired pillow-talk conversation we had late one night, I "found" myself and the direction I wanted my blog to go.
The newly designed site and image re-launched in Feb 2011, hope you like it!
Roughly one year and over a million hits later, I think I've found the direction I was heading for:
Being able to effectively share my frugal expertise with the world...
and have a lot of fun doing it :)

I have a bachelor's degree in Recreation Management and Youth Leadership from Brigham Young University and worked with at-risk teens before becoming a mom. I didn't major in finance or economics, so no, I am not a professional number cruncher, and no, I am no financial guru.
I am your average, every day, run-of-the-mill wife/mom/daughter/sister/friend/reality TV junkie who loves to have fun, loves to eat out, loves to shop, loves to is obsessed with throwing parties, and loves to do fun things with my family...and NEEDS to do it on a budget.
THAT is how I became
the Fun Cheap or Free Queen.
Through my years of study, experience, coaching, teaching, consulting, interviewing, trial and error, and good ol' fashioned hard work,
I have discovered a simple way to create a Fun/Cheap/Free LIFESTYLE... and just HAD to share it with the world!
The beauty about living a frugal lifestyle is that it's all about balance. Saving money is a lot like losing weight. It doesn't make sense to go to the gym for 4 hours straight, then eat 5 slices of pizza for dinner. No one needs to go to the gym for 4 hours is you learn to balance an active lifestyle + exercise, and eating healthy + eating what you want. It's the same with frugality and finances!
Buy what you want!...just save up for it and shop around for it first.
Make your home beautiful!...just get creative along the way and try to do some things yourself.
Do tons of fun things as a family!...you don't have to spend much to live a rich, exciting life.
Follow me as I help you make Fun/Cheap/Free your way of living, and before you know it, you will have more money, more experiences, and will have more fun than you ever knew you could!
It's a great way to live! I can't wait to share it all with you.

Lindsay Butler,
Director of Marketing

Hi! I am Lindsay and I am the newest member of funcheaporfree.com! I am beyond thrilled to be working with Jordan as the Marketing Director. I plan on working hard for all of you! I will bring you some great giveaways, additional product discounts and much more!
I have been married for 3 years to that stud-muffin on the left! Together we are raising our son Greyson, who will be turning two on Halloween. In addition, we have a very energetic and thankfully for her adorable puppy Lola, and one fish I have miraculously been able to keep alive & well since March. In our free time we love going out as a family and playing disc-golf. During nap times you'll likely find me cruising through Pinterest, painting a room in our new (to us) home, or playing around with Photoshop.
10 random "Get to know me better" facts:
- I have not gone a single day without some form of chocolate since before college.
- I am terrible at accessorizing / styling rooms...like really bad....I have no idea what I am doing, I always have to call in my husband to lend and eye.
- I LOVE planning parties. Any kind, any size, and for any occasion.
- I do not like bacon or watermelon. Every summer I try watermelon in the hopes of loving it (like an American should), but it's terrible.
- Even though I spend all day with Greyson, when he goes down for a nap I find myself missing him.
- I gave up caffeinated soda when I got pregnant, and I have not had any since...I also do not drink alcohol, or coffee.
- I check my email, and blog reader before my feet even touch the floor in the morning.
- My favorite purchase of all time is our camera. As a honeymoon present Scott bought me a Nikon D3000, and I adore it. I have just recently put it in manual mode, I can already see a HUGE improvement in my photos.
- My pupils are two different sizes
- I have a streak of gray hair in the back of my head (thankfully underneath the top layer). My brother also has a "patch" of gray hair.
I truly feel like the luckiest girl getting the opportunity to work for Jordan, and every.single.one of you readers!
