Have I told you how much I love all you readers?
I got loads of great comments and emails again this week, thought I'd share a few with you...
On my "How I grocery shop" page:
I really appreciate this post! Especially the part about picking a checker! I ALWAYS pick the wrong checker it seems like. On the other hand I have to giggle because a few weeks ago I was shopping at walmart and got 5 doz. eggs. This exact same package of eggs is 6.59 at Sam's Club, but was marked at 11.98 at walmart! As the checker got to the eggs I told him as much, but he refused to pricematch since they are technically the same company. So I asked for a manager, because I've pricematched from sam's club before. The manager came and said the same thing. Walmart doesn't pricematch from sam's club. The checker was a young man, probably in his early 20s. The manager was an older woman who looked like i was a HUGE inconvenience. I wouldn't pay that price for the eggs and told them to take them off my ticket.
Also, at my walmart they often have the competitors ads pinned up behind the register. They've never asked me for an ad and a few of them will even tell me about a price match that I had missed! - Miranda
I just read your article on ad matching at Walmart. One thing I just found out is that they will not price match their own stores. Each Walmart has their own basic pricing system and will not match prices with another Walmart. Here is an example: I was in Logan recently and bought a pair of shoes on clearance for $10. I wanted another pair in brown and found some at the other Walmart in Logan (I am assuming you’re in Utah). They were $25 a pair in their store and would not match prices. So be careful of their own prices.
Just thought you might like to know this. BTW, I was speaking with a manager at the time I asked them to match prices.
I am glad to see you showing people to use their heads when shopping and not rely solely on coupons to save money on food. I have pointed out your website to many of my clients. You’re doing a great job.

On my "Favorite tub toy basket" post:
I use one of those baskets for her little toys in the living room. I use a lingerie laundry bag for the bath toys. We had a spare over the door hook and there is a towel bar in the shower/tub so I hung the hook on the rack and the bag on the hook. Out of reach, water runs out and things dry without getting water all over. - Michelle
When Priya was sick:
My husband worked in the ER for over 6 years. He hated seeing little ones sick like that come in. We've been there ourselves though too :( Hope she feels better soon!!! - Elisabeth
Hope she's feeling better and you both are getting some rest. - Vickie
Poor sweet thing. Glad to hear it was nothing serious! - Sarah

On my Foodie Tuesday post about using bananas instead of eggs:
tried this today, except i didnt find this post in time. i botched it a little, still worked just fine, but definitely tasted like banana. (which wasnt a problem with the chocolate cake mix i used! yum!) i used one WHOLE banana and one whole egg. it was a smaller banana, but still probably too much. it was mushy, enough where i could mix it up by hand. and i still used the oil and water as it called for on the cake mix. it rose up fine, and was very moist, but really did taste like a chocolate banana cake. FINE WITH ME! thanks for the tip, next time ill be sure to look up how much BEFORE i start. - Mary
Bird nest necklaces post:
What a great project - and with Mother's Day around the corner I now know what I want to do! Thank you for the idea! Off to Michael's!
BTW - my kids were both born in SLC, too, and we moved around a bit. We now live in GA, but I sooo miss the mountains. Looking at the photo on the deck brings back many happy memories. :) - Stephanie
And, my favorite from the week....
