Happy Saturday! Today's project idea is SOOOOO easy. And let's be honest...I love me some hot glue, so it's pretty fun too :)
Dollar Store Gem Wreath
I was at the dollar store the other day and saw some materials that I thought I could get creative with.
I bought one wreath (it wasn't the 13in one, it was smaller...maybe 10 inches?) And two 14oz bags of plain colored gems.
It's so easy to do!
Ready for this?
Step 1: Simply glue on the gems...
Oh wait...that's it. Glue on the gems.
Done, and done.
Seriously.
So easy, and so fun.
Try it.
You'll see.
Pretty nifty, eh?
Get creative with different colored gems, and switch out different ribbons for different holidays and seasons.
It was a little tricky to find the perfect sized gem to fit in some places since my wreath wasn't smooth like foam wreaths are, but I like the look of the wood showing through the clear gems.
Note: The wreath gets REALLY heavy with all the stones on there, so make sure you have a sturdy hanger. This is the only one I had handy so it's not pretty, but it just had to do for the pictures' sake.
My husband doesn't normally doesn't get excited over crafts, but he LOVED the look of this. He kept saying, "what else can we cover with these??"
He was thinking it'd look cool to cover picture frames and/or a mirror frame with stones. I have to say, I think I agree :)
It's almost embarassing how easy this was! Give it a try, and send me pics to funcheaporfree@gmail.com if you try this project. Hey, you just might get featured!
Give it a try! Have a great weekend...
