Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend.
We laid pretty low because...
I'm REALLY pregnant and simply don't feel like doing much.
Since I don't have any exciting weekend deals to recap, I thought I'd share with you two of my favorite food sealers!
Hey, I don't want it to go bad!!
One little diddy that I picked up on a whim from Bed Bath and Beyond (for about $9) is this little guy:
The Euro Sealer
I guess it's one of those "as seen on TV" doo-dads that you always wonder, "does it really work?"
Well guess what? It works!
It's basically the size of a fat stapler and has a magnet on the back so it sticks right to your fridge (which I like). You push down the little handle thing for a few seconds to get it heated up, then drag it along the top of an open bag. It melts the bag in a perfect line, creating a new seal! It's awesome!
I use it a lot for candy bags (I can never open them straight and my tear always seems to run down the entire side of the bag), chip bags, and cereal bags.
You do have to cut the bag again to re-open the seal so the bag will get smaller and smaller each time, but you need less of the bag every time you eat the food out of it, right??
It cuts down on the need for cereal bags, and is perfect for items that you may not get into every day.
As I mentioned, I got mine from BB&B - be sure to use a coupon if you get it from them! I thought it was worth my impulsive $9, so give it a try and see if you like it too!
I also have this guy:
Rival Seal-A-Meal Vacuum Sealer
I got it as a wedding gift and think it's another great thing to have around. At about $60-$75, it's more in the "splurge" category, depending on how you look at it.
It does a good job of vacuum sealing food (I like to use it for meat that I freeze), but it's a bit cumbersome, and the bags are expensive, and it's not the easiest thing in the world to use.
BUT...I still think it's well worth it to have a vacuum sealer in your home! (even if it's not this exact one).
**NOTE: Do NOT buy the no-name brand of sealing bags!!!! They do NOT work well, I learned the hard way!
It's a great way to keep food fresh in your freezer, and you can even seal full freezer meals in the bags!
So those are the two little sealers I like. They both work well enough for my needs and get the job done! Are there any other sealers that you enjoy?
