Friend-Feature Friday: DIY fun/cheap/free Easter baskets

Welcome back to Friend-Feature Friday, where we feature a blog friend, reader friend, or...well...anyone else who's friendly, I guess :)

Today we are featuring a good friend and amazing blogger, Hilary with Spending Less, Living More! She came up with the CUTEST and EASIEST custom Easter basket idea, I can't wait to have my little girl so I can make a frilly lace one just for her!

Here's how she did it:
For Easter this year I want to do something for Blayke, last year she was 3 months old, so we didn’t do anything. There is a little Easter Egg Hunt this weekend, I went last yr while I was up visiting, I really want to take Blayke this year. {I know she can’t walk, but I’m going to help her! They let the little ones go first, so I think we’ll be fine}. So, she needs an Easter Basket! :)
I picked this up at a thrift store {DI} for .75!
I cut out some fabric from an old sheet to cover the basket. I hot glued it on as I went.
For the bottom, I folded it together and hot glued that down.
Then I sewed the top edge of some lace I had. It was already cut and everything. I pulled on one string to make it ruffle and then hot glued that onto the basket.
At the last minute I found the tan lace, and added that to the top as well as the yellow flower. {click here to see how I made the flower}.
Done! It was so easy. I did it all while Blayke was taking her nap! We’ll go fill it up with some eggs this weekend! {wish us luck!}
Basket: $.75
{I had the fabric, lace and flower}
Total: .75!

Thanks for the cute idea and tutorial, Hilary!
