Welcome back to "You're Welcome" Wednesday!
Today I've got a creative savings tip for you.
Any time you buy something - EVER - whether it be
- fast food
- clothing
- groceries
- restaurant customer copy receipts
- drinks from the mall
seriously ANYTHING, you need to always, always, always, always check the receipt. Always.
Why, you might ask? Two good reasons in my book:
- They might have made a mistake (charged you for something you decided you didn't want, charged something twice on accident, over-charged you for something that was on sale, etc.)
- You might be missing free stuff! Seriously!
On the bottom or backs of many receipts there are coupons, contests, and opportunities to take surveys for prizes or discounts.
For example, I had this great shopping trip at The Children's Place. My receipt had this at the bottom:
Sorry the quality is so poor, I took this with my phone.
At the bottom it gave me an opportunity to take a survey within 5 days to not only possibly win $1000, but I get a 15% discount on my next visit! For taking a 5 minute phone survey!
Um, no brainer.
I've done this multiple times and have gotten great discounts. I even got a free burger from Wendy's for taking a (seriously 2 minute) survey. It's so easy!
Even tonight, we went to Olive Garden with my hubby's grandma. We got a discount for taking a survey, as per the bottom of our receipt.
Here's my Victoria's Secret receipt from the other day:

Also check the backs of receipts (and movie tickets!!). At grocery stores especially they often print a whole list of local coupons.
So there you have it! It's an easy way to save money, or possibly even win something cool. You just never know, right?
You're Welcome :)
