From now until Christmas simply save any light bulbs of yours that burn out. Cover them with water-based varnish, tissue paper, scrapbooking paper, paint, glitter, whatever you like (see a few ideas below. You can also google images for "light bulb ornaments" for more visual ideas). Add yarn or ribbon, and turn them into super cute hanging ornaments!!
Ask around your neighborhood and ask people to pass along their burnt out bulbs to you too. You'll have quite the collection before you know it.
